Credits & Attribution

I created this dynamic course syllabus using some of my own images, along with media content provided by Wix as well as content that I sourced from fair use sites, such as Unsplash and The Noun Project. I customized most of the content using Photoshop and Canva to fit the visual style of the site. In this way, while I claim my work here, I also honor the makers and teachers who created fair use content or inspired my teaching approach. In this spirit, I have provided specific credits and attributions in the list below. My attribution is an act of gratitude for the work of these makers and teachers. I hope that you will likewise be inspired by my dynamic syllabus and provide tagging and attribution using the information below:
Inspiration:
I would like to acknowledge Dr. Lindsay Masland as the inspiration for the “pyramid of activities” assessment method and the tiered feedback approach. I would like to thank Emory Maiden for suggesting that I create my first dynamic, or liquid, syllabus back in 2017. Thank you both for sharing and tweeting to advance teaching and learning! Many thanks to my colleague, Jeff Goodman, for sharing his playful 11-point grading system. Likewise, thank you to my media literacy colleague Dr. Denise Chapman for the idea to cultivate a Calm Inbox. A hearty thanks to the Media Education Lab team, which is where I first encountered the language of "real time" and "anytime" as alternatives to synchronous and asynchronous. Forever inspired by Lynda Barry, especially her book Making Comics (2019) where I borrowed my attendance policy. Finally, many thanks to the folks at Harvard’s Project Zero who worked on The Out of Eden Dialogue Toolkit that I augmented and brought to life through the interactivity of Wix.
