Welcome!

Purpose: This site represents a developing curriculum resource related to visual literacy and media literacy education that was created as part of a public school partnership for advancing English Language Arts curriculum in the upper elementary school classroom. Specifically, this site houses media examples that were curated to illuminate and exemplify David Considine and Gail Haley's "4P Framework" of mise-en-scène shared in their book Visual Messages: Integrating Imagery into Instruction (1992). The 4Ps provide an accessible and engageing framework for cultivating visual and media literacy skills.
